The former Undertakings in Ligota


Poultry farm: Near the pond in the vicinity of the former castle, were two piggeries. After the war, there were grown pigs. In 1953. was established there Poultry farm - Meat bets, that were subject Undertakings Meat in Wroclaw.
In 1991-1993 was signed bankruptcy of poultry farm.

Castle 'Kloh' in Ligota

CASTLE 'KLOH' IN LIGOTA

Castle was demolished in perionds the Second World War by Russians. Arfet the war, the entire structure has been preserved in addition  of the roof, which burned down. It was pulled down and taken away out of our area to the vicinity Poznan. In August 2010. we were visited by a former resident of the castle, Mrs. Kloh. When she was five years left her mansion (1944) and she left to Germany. Her father died in France, and the mother died in Germany. Together with her husband visited Ligota and Maslow, which also belonged to the possessions of her husband. In the parish church in Maslow is plaque, which commemorates a Klohs' visit in our town. In Ligota's forest, near Maslow, is buried Mrs. Kloh's grandfather.

Plaque is located on the right side of Maslow Church, opposite the old church's cemetery chapel.

After the war, from the castle was only ruins. People who came from the eastern Polish territories still remember the walls and cellars of the castle, the park of precious trees and a pond full of fish.

Today the castle is nothing. The park has a single tree, a pond overgrown.

The origin of the name of the village:


Old names of Księginice: Knegitz, Cnegnice, Knygniz, Kniegnitz,
from 1945 : Księgnice.

The modern name comes from the Slavic Knieźnice or Krzyżnice, that from the word Duke, Knez, Prince. Its etymological meaning "princely village" refers to the fact that Księginice was one of the possessions of Henry the Bearded. Princely bakers lived here.

History of willage:

In 1204 Księginice - the will of the prince - enriched emoluments of Trzebnica's monastery. Under the management of Cistercians were until secularization in 1810. The willage was founded under German law. In 1416 peasants' rights were owned by Heinrich Patche, then in 1826 their own becomes a Treugoottem Tauchen. This continues until 1926, when the local goods are chipped and divided among four owners-in this form survived until 1945.


Qualities and cultural peculiarities of nature

On the area ​​the village are the houses from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth century. Important elements are furthermore stone monument-Denkmal and pre-war cross.

In an area ​​villages is very important for the development of ecosystems species: white stork - Ciconia ciconia. Its nest is located in the center of the village on the main road.
